Summer Camp

Registration for Summer Camp is now open and space will fill up quickly. Summer Camp will be held June 26 - August 18, 2017 and will be available for all children 18 months - 5 years old. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to register as soon as possible to secure your spot in what's sure to be another summer of fun at La Prima Casa Montessori!

This year, we will have eight (8) one-week Summer Camp sessions. Summer Camp will begin one week after the end of our scholastic year. The daily schedule will mirror a typical school day to help you with your busy schedules. Camp hours will be from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm for all full-day programs and aftercare will be offered until 6:00 pm

IMPORTANT NOTE: Summer camp will ONLY be held at the Roads Campus. The Brickell Campus will be closed for the summer.

Session 1: Jun 26 - Jun 30
Wonders of Nature: 
In our Living Classrooms, we are going to experience the wonders of nature! We will do a lot of gardening and learn how plants grow and why it's cool to have our own vegetable garden. We will discover the different species of animals in the world. We will go on nature scavenger hunts, make our own compost bins and get in touch with our hippy side and make our own tie dye t-shirts!

Session 2: Jul 3 - Jul 7
Lil Artists' Gallery: 
Bring out the creativity in your little one. During this camp session, the children will employ daily art mediums and techniques including painting, photography and pottery. By visiting a local museum or art gallery, our older children will have the opportunity to view professional art pieces on display. They will also learn about famous artists from all over the world.

Session 3: Jul 10 - Jul 14
A Blast to the Past - A Time Traveler's Adventure: 
Our campers will have an adventure through history as they travel to and from different places in time! During the course of the session, we will stop by Ancient Rome on our way to see Mt. Vesuvius erupt. We will do rain dances with the Native Americans, build ships with the vikings, decipher hieroglyphics, see dinosaurs and get excited about the Space Race! 

Session 4: Jul 17 - Jul 21
Around the World in 5 Days:
From Asia to South America, the children will put on their National Geographic Explorer caps and study some of the most interesting cultures that exist in the world today. They will travel around the world in 5 days to learn about different cities, foods, ecosystems, and traditional costumes. They will also go on a local field trip to explore the melting pot that surrounds them right here in Miami!

Session 5: Jul 24 - Jul 28
LPC Laboratory:
Explore the world of science at the LPC Laboratory! The children will perform fun projects that will expand their knowledge on electricity, density, chemical reactions, gravity and other fascinating scientific phenomenon.  A specialist in the field will be invited to guide the children, as they conduct their own experiments, investigating chemical reactions and gravity.

Session 6: Jul 31 - Aug 4
Out of This World:
To infinity and beyond! This session, we will launch our campers into a galaxy of fun. We will build rocket ships and our very own space suits and learn what a day in the life of an astronaut out in space is like. We will explore the different planets and moons in our solar system and discover what else lies beyond.  We will also take a field trip to the newly finished planetarium at the new Frost Museum of Science.

Session 7: Aug 07 - Aug 11
